Inspired by the von Wright brothers
The theme of the Ateneum’s summer season 2020 is ‘inspiration’. The exhibition staged in the Fokus gallery looks at works by the von Wright brothers that have inspired, for example, craft enthusiasts and street fashion designers. The exhibition features 19 works and a number of sketchbooks by the von Wright brothers. Other features include Makia Clothing sketches that capture the process of designing clothes, and skateboards by Seven Inch Skateboards.

“Come with an open mind. And crying is allowed!” This is how art collector Seppo Fränti welcomes visitors to see the collection he has been assembling for forty years. In 2017 the Helsinki-based collector donated his extensive collection to Kiasma. Mad Love takes a deep dive into Fränti’s collection and the passion that brought it into being.
The exhibition catalogue Hullu rakkaus / Galen kärlek / Mad Love highlights the exceptional composition of the Seppo Fränti Collection in which abstract minimalism meets intensely expressive art.
