Self-Portrait, Black Background pendant

Inspired by the pendant in Helene Schjerfbeck’s iconic 'Self-Portrait, Black Background' (1915), this necklace is made with gold-plated stainless steel and jade-green glass. The backside of the piece features a delicate line drawing, an engraving that echoes the original painting.

TAIKURO is a Finnish brand founded in 2025 that makes jewelry inspired by works of art. All jewelry is handcrafted at Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki from high-quality and ethical materials. Taikuro was founded by Lotta Blomberg, a visual artist who graduated from Aalto University.
