This book presents two collection exhibitions. Face to Face showcases the many forms of contemporary portraiture. The extensive range of media used in contemporary art and changes in our conceptions of subject are reflected in the variety of the works.

The focus in Elements is on the world around us. The title refers to the attempts of ancient Greek philosophers to understand reality. The artworks query our relationship with the world, nature and experiences that transcend our perception.
