Description
This richly illustrated book offers a diverse perspective on the visual representation of power and justice throughout history. The visual aspects of governance and judicial practices are presented as a vibrant part of both ecclesiastical and secular life, spanning from the earliest times to the present day.

The book consists of several expert articles that delve deeply into the topic. Each article includes comprehensive summaries in Swedish, and the final article is also available in English. The work is edited by PhD Virpi Harju, Adjunct Professor of Art History at the Finnish National Gallery, with the patronage of the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö.

In addition to Harju, contributions are made by Associate Professor Tuomas Heikkilä, Professor Henrik Meinander, Professor Ville Lukkarinen, and Emeritus Professor Heikki E. S. Mattila.
